Troubleshooting


For  O2LA and peripheral products:
Issue Cause(s) Action
O2LA not powering on Cable problem A) Check the power cable (the polarities)
B) Check fuse in O2LA unit
C) Press the reset switch
Red LED continuously ON and beeping
Abnormal display
Unit tampered A) Press "RESET" Switch
B) Close Jumper ( J1)
Fuse blows Polarity reversed A) Check for proper polarity
B) Input voltage applied should be 12-15VDC
Green and RED LED doesn't lit up Improper DC supply A) Check power supply
B) Check the fuse in O2LA unit
Date/Time takes default values even if set/stored Battery weak Check the LITHIUM battery inside
Master code is lost --------------------------- Close Jumper (J1) and press the RESET switch
Entering of codes through O2LA or keypad is not possible System in Online mode Go to PRO S/W, click on Offline mode button and start programming on O2LA
Readers connected to O2LA not working 1) Data lines not connected properly
Yellow = D1
White = D0
2) Power supply
3) Voltage not proper
A) Check the Data lines
B) Check the supply voltage
Readers not sensing cards properly 1) Metal devices in between
2) High power electric cables in vicinity
3) Interference of other RF devices
4) Interference of other proximity devices
A) Check the distance between 2 readers it should be minimum 1 meter
B) Remove any high powered electric cables, RF devices or other metal objects from the vicinity
RS-232(PC) communication is not established 1) RS-232 cable maybe loose
2) Setting not done on O2LA unit
A) Fit the RS-232 cable properly
B) Check the settings in O2LA for RS-232
C) Check for registration key/serial key
D) Check the Global settings parameters (GPS) in the PRO S/W
E) Check for settings of port on PC (The port should not interfere with any other device)
Modem communication is not established 1) Wrong Modem used
2) Cable loose
3) Not set the parameters on 02LA unit
A) Modem used should be HAYES compatible
B) Cable fixed properly
C) Set the parameters on O2LA unit
Serial printer not working 1) Wrong model used
2) Cable loose
3) Check settings on O2LA for printer
A) O2LA setting should be checked
B) Cable fixed properly
C) Check the list of compatible printers
RS-485 communication not established 1) Power is not established for O2LA and EW
2) RS-485 wiring not properly done
A) Power the 02LA and EW properly
B) Wiring should be done in daisy chain format ie: A terminal of O2LA to A terminal of EW and B terminal of EW to B terminal of EW
C) Shield of cable should be grounded at both ends
D) Set the DIPSWITCH address on EW before powering it ON
E) All EW should have unique address
F) Address of O2LA is 00 and Sixth DIPSWITCH on EW should be in OFF position (0)
RS-485 communication not stable 1) Distance maybe more than 1 km A) Add proper terminator resistor at both ends of wire
B) Check the distance is not more than 1 KM
